As I reflect on the past two years of my life at Gather Social, it’s crazy to see how far I have come in my role. From starting my career as a content creator to now a social media and content manager, with ever-evolving new responsibilities and even managing some of our largest accounts, I can truly say I have grown and flourished in my position here.
When I started my role at Gather Social as a content creator, I was thrilled to get the opportunity to create a diverse range of social content for a variety of clients. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was given a high level of creative freedom and responsibility at an early stage in my role. I was able to work on exciting projects from the get-go, with support and guidance from the team. This allowed me to create content that was both engaging and unique, while also fulfilling my client's specific requirements. As a result, I found that my role at Gather Social was not only rewarding but also provided me with the perfect platform to develop my creative skills and grow my career in social media and content management.
In less than a year, I was promoted to social media and content manager and found myself managing one of our biggest clients, whom I’d gotten to know very well over my time at Gather so far. It was a massive responsibility, which I didn’t even realise at the time, that I was more than capable of managing. Not only did I have to learn how to communicate effectively with the client, understand their unique needs, and ensure that we were meeting their goals, but I also had to organise weekly content days for the client and deliver briefs to everyone in the team. It was a lot of work and a lot of change, but I was able to rise to the challenge and deliver results that exceeded their expectations. I now receive regular positive feedback from the client and other’s expressing how much I have helped them achieve their goals and how they’ve loved to witness me blossom into my managerial role.
Throughout my time at Gather Social, I have been fortunate enough to have experienced significant personal growth. The company provided me with the tools, support, and guidance necessary to develop my skills and become more confident in my abilities. I have learned to trust myself and my instincts, which has allowed me to take on more significant responsibilities and become a more effective leader. Not to mention my confidence has come on leaps and bounds, if you would’ve told me two years ago that I’d be leading meetings, shoots, and believing in myself to the level I do today, I would’ve laughed in your face. It’s safe to say that being given the right opportunities and environment to blossom and really be yourself, pays off and Gather has definitely done that for me.
Looking back on the past two years, I am grateful for the experiences, challenges, and growth opportunities that Gather has provided me. I have become more confident in my abilities, honed in on my skills, and developed valuable relationships with my colleagues and clients. It's been such a rewarding journey so far, and I'm so excited to see where it takes me next.
