Can you believe it? I've almost been at Gather for a whole year! From learning the ropes to becoming a valued member of the team, my time so far at Gather has been nothing short of amazing. This blog will share some of the stand-out points of my journey so far and what I’m looking forward to in the future.
The Culture
One of the things that immediately struck me about Gather was its vibrant culture. From the moment I joined, I was welcomed with open arms by the team who quickly became my friends. The supportive environment here helped me settle in and feel at home. Whether it's brainstorming sessions, team lunches or socials, I feel like I’m part of the Gather Social family.
At Gather, support goes beyond work-related tasks, it extends to personal well-being too. From my first few weeks, it was clear that Gather fosters a healthy work-life balance. Our flexible working policy means that we can choose when to come in or when to work from home so work can fit around our lives.
One thing I love about Gather is the way we celebrate our wins, both big and small. From client successes to team achievements, every milestone is acknowledged and appreciated, both personal and professional. This culture of celebration boosts everyone’s motivation and makes each of us feel valued.
What I’ve Learnt
My first few months were all about soaking up knowledge and honing my skills. Gather invests heavily in the growth of its employees, and I was no exception. I’ve had learning opportunities every day, whether it’s online training afternoons, one-to-one training with my managers or weekly Meta-ads mentoring from our MD Sam, everyone’s help and guidance has allowed me to develop my digital marketing skills and I now confidently manage my client’s accounts. The commitment to continuous learning has empowered me to take on new challenges, it's incredible how much I've learnt in just a year!
Building Connections
To me, Gather is more than just a workplace. Over the last year, I've built a range of new relationships, with both the team and our clients. Whether it's having lunch together in the Arboretum, being on a team shoot or having an impromptu Wednesday evening trip to the pub there’s always something exciting to look forward to. In terms of clients, it’s been great to build their trust and work with them to transform their digital marketing and create amazing results. A highlight for me was when one of my clients brought in personalised biscuits for one of our meetings, I couldn’t believe it! I think that was the first time I’d realised how far I’d come.
Looking Ahead
As I reflect on my first year at Gather, I'm so grateful that this year has been everything that I wanted and more. Working at Gather is both rewarding and fulfilling, and I can't wait to see how I continue to grow with new challenges and opportunities. Joining Gather was undoubtedly one of the best decisions I've ever made, the culture, the team, and passion for social media make it a place I love to be.
